This weekend we also visited a cultural attraction near Chennai called DakshinaChitra where there are displays of traditional homes and crafts from the provinces of Tamil Nadu (Chennai), Kerala, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. Dan even got his palm reading done and it sounds like we’ll all still have jobs for at least the next few months!

On Sunday we decided to take in the downtown shopping scene in an area called Tyagaraya Nagar which one of our colleagues described ‘like being dropped into a bucket full of people’. It wasn’t quite that dramatic but pretty cool to see the streets full of vendors and local people shopping for goods.

Our guide told an interesting story about how during the tsunami in 2004 they could briefly see the tops of the other temples as the sea receded before the brunt of the waves came in.

Excellent video showing some snippets of the process of going from a concept to a wireframe. Fits well with the Prototyping book by Todd Zakiwarfel I’ve been reading and the UX Team of One talk by Leah Buley at UIE14/SXSW.

Bummed I won’t be at SXSW this year to see the talk this video was made for!
